Abbreviations
SC - Single Crochet
DC - Double Crochet
SL ST - Slip Stitch
Materials
Size I - 5.5mm crochet hook
3 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle
CH 3 Join.
Round 1: Work 12 SC through the chain, do not join. Work the continual round working the next stitch in top of the first stitch.
Round 2: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (12 SC total)
Round 3: Work 2 SC in each stitch around. (24 SC total)
Round 4: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (24 SC total)
Round 5: Work 2 SC in each stitch around. (48 SC total)
Round 6: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (48 SC total) Work a slip stitch to even off the round.
Round 7: Chain 1, *work a SC in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, work 6 DC in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, continue from * 8 times total. Join with the beginning stitch. (8 Shell total with 6 DC in each shell)
Round 8-15: Slip stitch over 3 DC, CH 1, *Work a SC between the DC. There will be 3 DC on each side of the SC. Work 6 DC in the next single crochet, Continue around from *. (8 Shell total with 6 DC in each shell)
The sides will start to form on round 9.
Handle - 15" inches - 38 CM
CH 12, join with the beginning chain.
Round 1: Work 12 SC around the chain. Do not join. Work the continual round working the next stitch in top of the first stitch.
Round 2-50: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. Work a slip stitch at the end to even off the round.
Place the handles evenly across from each other at the bottom of the basket and sew in place. In the video tutorial, I folded the edge on the basket. You will sew the handle from the bottom up. The handle will help the sides stay up.
Upon completion, sew in all the tails.
