Yarn Marker - This can be a scrap piece of yarn to mark the beginning of the round
CH 3 join with the beginning chain.
Round 1: Work 12 SC through the chain. Do not Join. Work the continual round. You may want to use a yarn marker.
Round 2: Work 2 single crochet in each stitch around (24 Single Crochet
Round 3: Work 1 single crochet in each stitch around (24 Single Crochet)
Round 4: *Work 1 SC in next stitch, work 2 SC in the next stitch, repeat from* (36 Single Crochet)
Round 5: 1 SC in each stitch around (36 Single Crochet)
Round 6: *1 Single Crochet in each of the next two stitches, Two single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat around the hat from *. ( 48 single crochet total)

To finish the earflap off, insert the hook in each of the next 5 stitches, drawing the loop through and leaving it on the hook. There will be a total of 6 loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn over and pull through all 6 loops. Cut the yarn, pull through, secure.
Eyes - Make 2
White Yarn
Chain 3, join
Round 1: Work 6 SC , working in continual round
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 single crochet total)
Round 3: Work 1SC in next stitch, Work 2 SC in next stitch , continue around (18 single crochet total)
Round 4: Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, work 2 single crochet in the next stitch, continue around (24 single crochet total)
Round 5: Work 1 SC in each BLO-(Back Loop Only) (24 single crochet total)
Slip stitch to join in the next stitch. Cut of a longer tail for sewing to the cap.
Pupil - Make
Black Yarn
Chain 3, join
Round 1: Work 6 SC , join with the beginning stitch. Cut a longer section of yarn. This section will be sewn to the White section.
Sew the yarn through the last round of stitches and pull slightly so the last round curls up to the backside. Knot the yarn in place. Sew the eyes in place on the cap. See image above for placement.
Snout
Chain 5,
Round 1: Work 1 SC in each ch work 2 SC in the same chain, work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, work 1 SC in the last chain, work in the continual round. (10 single crochet total)
Round 2: Work 2 single crochet in each stitch around. (20 single crochet total)
Round 3: 1 single crochet in each stitch around (20 single crochet total)
Round 4: Work 1 SC in the next stitch, Work 2 SC in the next stitch (30 single crochet total)
Round 5: Work 1 SC in the next 2 stitches, Work 2 SC in the next stitch (40 single crochet total)
Round 6-8: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (40 single crochet total)
Nostril Holes - Make 2
Chain 5
Round 1: Work 1 SC in each of the next 4 stitches
Round 2-3: Work 1 SC in each of the next 4 stitches
Cut the yarn and secure. Weave the yarn through the last row, pull to create a curved shape. Sew on to snout. See image above for placement.
Flap - Below Snout
Chain 7
Row 1: Work 1 SC in each of the next 6 chains ( 6 single crochet total)
Row 2: Work 2 SC in each stitch across ( 12 single crochet total)
Row 3: Work 1 SC in each stitch across (12 single crochet total)
This part will be sewn to the bottom of the snout along the long edge - See image for placement
Sew the snout to the cap.
Ear
Dark Green Yarn
Chain 3, join
Round 1: Work 6 SC , join
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around , join (12 single crochet total) cut yarn and change color
Attach light green
Round 3: Work 2 SC in each stitch around ( 24 single crochet total)
Round 4: Work 1 SC in each stitch around ( 24 single crochet total)
Sew ears to cap. They are placed approximately 3 rounds from the center. See image for placement.
